Spirit Collective as a "Love Coalition"​

 

Spirit Collective represents our efforts to neutralize the influences that corrupt and corrode religious movements, not to mention political systems, institutions, economies, and laws. We are going to zig where other organizations, especially Christian churches, have zagged, by practicing anti-institutionalism. What are we building, then, if not an institution? Just this: a social dynamic of powerful love marked by shared spiritual experiences. We call this our "legacy of light."

A useful way of naming this model is to call it a coalition. A coalition is a social organization. In the mode of a coalition, Spirit Collective respects its members by asking them never to surrender their self-government. Do not allow anyone speaking on behalf of Spirit Collective to convince you to think of a "greater good." That's where the trouble always starts. Here, there is no greater good than you: your heart and soul, your mind, and your body. Our goal is to see you healed, empowered, enlightened, and, in all ways, loved. This is why we call ourselves a love coalition. We endeavor to do what Love would do.

Love can be messy, at times even chaotic. Maybe you've heard it said that Love "believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things." All things. It may a high price to pay, but this is how we build a love coalition: we allow our group of individuals and other organizations to evolve as fast as friend groups and relationships do; we don't set things in stone, like a typical institution, unless we have to; where institutions tend to formalize, write policy, and impose procedure, we empower our members to choose their own paths with the guidance of the group; and we enter together into the processes of self-actualization and transformation.
 

At Spirit Collective, we are a group of people who stand separately from the structures of the world; who choose empathy over selfishness; who look not only to our own interests, but to the interests of our neighbors and friends; who reject violence in all its many forms; who embrace the energy of life over the power of death.

 

Our legacy of light will not be an organization that trades in the hundreds of millions of dollars or that wields great influence over billions of people. Rather, it will be a group run by Love that shines brightly in a world darkened by hatred and greed.

This is a lofty dream, and it will take everyone working together to see it come true.
