First Gathering Recap

A different energy

 

Social gatherings have an energy about them. There is the buzz of a concert, the unpredictability of a party, the comfort of hanging out with friends, and so on. At the first gathering of Spirit Collective, the energy in the room differed from any of those. Yet it was quite familiar.

The gathering itself was simple. We started with a question posed to the group: "What does Spirit mean to you?" We listened to some live music while people thought it over. Then the discussion began. Those who wanted to share, shared. Those who did not, didn't. Then we heard an impromptu song. A little more discussion followed. That's all there was to it.

​

But the impact of the gathering on us was much greater than the sum of its parts might indicate. The energy in the room, the energy of Spirit, of Love, breathed life into everything we were doing. People shared from their hearts, speaking of their life experiences, even painful ones, and were heard with a palpable empathy. Despite all of us not knowing each other, we felt it was not only safe, but beneficial to open up. We made an incredible beginning.

There were some technical difficulties. We could not get the live stream going. Apologies to those of you who were looking for it. Hopefully the bugs will be worked out by Sunday.
